Wilbur Society

In 1929, James B. Wilbur established a scholarship fund for the University of Vermont through a provision in his will. From an initial gift of $1.5 million, that fund has grown to nearly $24 million and now provides financial aid to more than 150 students annually.

The University of Vermont's Wilbur Society honors individuals who have made gifts to UVM through wills, trusts, IRA provisions, insurance gifts and the UVM Gift Annuity program. The support of Wilbur Society members through deferred gifts ensures UVM’s place of excellence well into the future.
