"I have enjoyed reaching out to admitted students in my area through the Congratulatory Postcard Campaign. It's an easy way to share my UVM pride and make a genuine connection with the next generation of UVMers." - Deb Mignucci '82

Volunteer Activities
Refer-A-Catamount
All UVM alumni are encouraged to utilize our Refer-A-Catamount program if you know a student who would make a great Catamount. Share their information with us, by using this form and they will receive information about UVM as well as an Alumni Referral Fee Waiver for the Common Application or Coalition Application.
College Fairs
Represent UVM at a high school near you! College fairs occur in the fall and spring at local high schools, colleges, and community centers. Volunteers will be provided with the materials for a branded and informative table display. Typical programs last 2 hours and involve engaging students and parents in conversation about UVM. Volunteers will receive Admissions training to ensure they know the most up-to-date information and facts about UVM and should be able to share their UVM story in conversation.
Postcards to Admitted Students
Connect with newly admitted students to congratulate them on their achievement! The postcard campaign provides students with a glimpse of the robust and engaged UVM alumni community in their area. Volunteers can expect to write to 10 or more admitted students. Volunteers will reach out via postcard and provide their contact information as a way for the student to be in touch if they are interested in conversation. UVM will supply all the materials along with guidelines for outreach.
Admitted Student Receptions
UVM Admissions hosts celebratory events for admitted students and families in select cities in the spring, providing them with reasons why they should join the Catamount Community. Alumni volunteers welcome and mingle with guests before the program and then are encouraged to stay through our formal presentation and current student/alumni panel to hear about the UVM student experience. Virtual training meetings prepare volunteers with logistics and how to share their love of UVM with our guests. Events last about 90 minutes.
