Celebrating Scholarships

a signature event bringing together donors, alumni, and students to honor scholarship impact and supporting the University of Vermont community

About the Event

There’s nothing more powerful than when donors provide scholarships to help students come to UVM.

Each April we celebrate donors and scholarship recipients at a dinner where donors and students get to meet each other and hear first-hand stories about how scholarships have changed lives.

Watch Sam's Story

Shown at the 2026 Celebrating Scholarships event in April, this video showcases the power that scholarships have to not only change the life of a student, but also their family.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Celebrating Scholarships happens every year in April to coincide with the meeting of the UVM Foundation Board of Directors meeting.

  • This event is a celebration of the important relationship between a donor and a student. We know how transformative it is to be a part of the UVM community and we bring together donors who help make it happen and the students who benefit from this generosity.

The event is a dinner and has a program full of stories. We always have a beautiful video story and several student voices that speak to the power of receiving a scholarship. The goal is to inspire everyone in the room with the beautiful things that philanthropy can do for our community.

  • This is a special event dedicated to donors meeting or deepening relationships with students benefitting from their philanthropic efforts. Therefore, this event is reserved for donors, students receiving scholarships, and UVM leadership, staffed by UVM Foundation & Alumni Association employees.

  • We always try to have this special event on campus at the Davis Center. If we cannot host it on campus, we hold the event at a local hotel and provide transportation.

  • You are a special guest for this event. Donors want to meet you and learn more about you, your studies, and your time at UVM. It's a chance to meet people in your Catamount network and to say thank you to the donor or donors who support your journey.

You'll get an evening full of camaraderie, inspiration, and gratitude (and plenty of food).
