Jared Alvord '10, G'20

Jared Alvord is the Managing Director of Business Development at VEIC, a leading nonprofit decarbonization focused consulting firm headquartered in Vermont. Jared has spent his career in business development in the decarbonization space, working on the development and implementation of small and large projects in energy efficiency, renewable energy, e-mobility and clean fuels, at leading companies such as Nextera Energy, Skyview Ventures and World Kinect.

In addition, Jared is very active in his community as a longtime volunteer firefighter in the local fire department and EMT in the regional ambulance service. He has also served on multiple boards, including with the Vermont chapter of the American Red Cross, and the Warren Volunteer Firefighters Association, a non-profit he helped found supporting local firefighters in times of need.

Jared is a very proud double catamount, staying active in UVM fundraising, supporting current students through UVMConnect, and attending as many athletic events as he can. He attributes much of his success in his career to his foundational years at UVM. He has stayed active as an athletic program alumnus, fundraising and supporting the track and field program. He has also stayed active supporting the Grossman School of Business, and specifically the Sustainable Innovation MBA program.

Jared earned his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies from UVM in 2010 and her MBA from UVM in 2020. He lives in Waitsfield, VT, in the Mad River Valley, with his wife, Emma, and his two year old toddler, Henry.
