Sam Donnelly '20

Sam Donnelly is the Executive Director of Building Burlington’s Future, a nonprofit civic organization focused on making Burlington a stronger, more welcoming, and more affordable place to live. He leads BBF’s policy, advocacy, and day-to-day work across issues including housing, public safety and community well-being, and Burlington’s local economy. His work includes developing policy, building community partnerships, engaging residents, and working with local and state leaders on issues affecting the city.

Before joining BBF, Sam served as Government Relations Manager at Let’s Grow Kids, helping lead statewide advocacy efforts to expand access to affordable, high-quality child care. He previously served as campaign manager for the Reproductive Liberty Amendment campaign at Planned Parenthood and has managed and advised several campaigns for local and statewide office. His background spans public policy, advocacy, campaign strategy, and grassroots organizing.

Sam earned his degree in Community and International Development from the University of Vermont. He lives in Burlington with his wife, their dog Henry, and cat Ollie.
