Dr. Meyers is a Tenured Professor in the Department of Imaging Sciences/Radiology, with joint appointments in Neurosurgery, Neurology and Otolaryngology at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. He earned his Medical Degree from UVM in 1986 and his Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin in 1982. He completed his Diagnostic Radiology Residency at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland, and Fellowships in Magnetic Resonance Imaging at the University of Pittsburgh, and Neuroradiology at the University of Rochester.
At the University of Rochester since 1992, he was the Founder and former Director of the Advanced MRI Fellowship Program, which has trained over 75 Fellows since 1999. He was also the Director for the Radiology Residency Program from 2010-2017 and has received seven faculty teaching awards. He has been a visiting professor and lecturer at universities, both nationally and internationally.
He is the author of four Radiology textbooks and co-author of three others which have been translated into 9 languages. He is the co-author of over 75 papers focused on the applications of MRI for Neuro-oncology, Traumatic Brain injuries and Neurodegeneration in peer reviewed medical and scientific literature as well as more than 70 presentations at national and international meetings.
He continues to be actively engaged in mentoring Radiology residents in their research projects and students in the Medical Scientist Training Program, as well as research collaborations with faculty in the Departments of Imaging Sciences, Neurosurgery, Neurology and Neuroscience at the University of Rochester.
