with an update on the continued progress of our Athletics Facility Project, made possible by the steadfast support of donors and the backing of the UVM Board of Trustees. Construction activity has resumed on the Athletics Facility Project, marked by the initiation of the latest construction phase by PC Construction, which commenced on May 1st, 2024. This phase is anticipated to conclude by the end of 2024.

Key highlights of this phase:

  • Renovation of existing spaces to accommodate men’s and women’s varsity ice hockey offices and lounge,

  • Athletic medicine upgrades, including a state-of-the-art hydrotherapy room,

  • New student-athlete academic space,

  • New dedicated function area for Victory Club hospitality and department meetings,

  • Renovations to the women’s general swim locker room, the women’s varsity swim and dive locker room, and the creation of a new men’s swim locker room adjacent to the pool.

This phase is a critical component of our overarching plan to enhance our athletics facility and serves as the foundation for subsequent developments. This construction phase involves the expansion of the Gucciardi Fitness Center, which will double the existing student fitness area.

The expansion is projected to be completed by the fall of 2025. We are collaborating with University and Foundation Leadership to continue fundraising efforts and secure additional sources of support to complete the Tarrant Center.

Your continued support is invaluable. Together, we are making significant strides in advancing our athletics facilities, and we deeply appreciate your commitment to this shared vision.
