The weekend of June 4-7, 2026, the UVM Foundation and Alumni Association had the absolute joy to welcome both the classes of 1975 and 1976 back to campus in celebration of their 50^th Golden Reunion.

It was a weekend full of reconnection, and just the right amount of party time. Watch the video below to see the highlights of a magnificent weekend on campus.

Kicking Off the Festivities

From the moment they arrived back on campus, these classes knew what was important: Connecting back with their friends and classmates to rekindle friendships.

Thursday night started with a reception at Alumni house with affinity groups. From the WRUV radio station to the Pi Phi sorority, classmates got back together and reconnected to get the weekend started with laughter and catching up.

Friday’s schedule was a blast from the past, with a morning class with some of the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources faculty. They talked through their critically acclaimed booked and the lessons that our ecosystems can teach us about facing the climate crisis.

In the afternoon, we had a case study lead by Moses Murphy from undergraduate admissions. Alumni looked at sample applications and learned about the process for building each incoming UVM class.

Then, once classes were finished for the week, it was time to get to the real business of reunion: The party!

Friday night was a dinner and dance cruise on the Spirit of Ethan Allen on the glassy Lake Champlain for the most perfect Burlington summer night.

A Day to Remember

Saturday morning, we didn't let the rain get in the way of a walking tour to see the new developments and recent additions to campus.

Plus, the alumni were welcomed by the faculty and staff of Silver Special Collections in the renovated Billings Library. They had the opportunity to look through samples from the collections. We got a short tour of the history of the building, and updates made to what alumni remembered as their student center.

Saturday night was the capstone of the weekend: The 50th Golden Dinner. Cocktails, dinner, and dancing. The Reunion committee welcome their classmates, and we had a special guest address from Dr. Marlene Tromp.

It was a weekend full to the brim with laughter, as well as a brilliant opportunity for our most important alumni to reconnect with what UVM is like for today's students. From the outside, it can look like a changed university - but the heart and soul of UVM remains the same.
