David Daigle '89

David Daigle served on the University of Vermont Board of Trustees from 2010 to 2020, and chaired the Board from 2016 to 2020.

The UVM Board of Trustees has full legal responsibility and authority for the University, and as chair it was David's responsibility to act as the bridge between the university president and the board, ensuring a productive and collaborative approach to enhancing UVM's long-term health.

During his tenure, David presided over a transformation of campus through the construction or renovation of many buildings and played an important role in the success of Move Mountains: The Campaign for the University of Vermont, which raised over $581 million for UVM and the UVM Medical Center. As chair, David also served as an ex officio member of the UVM Foundation Board of Directors.

From 2000 to 2009, he was a dedicated member of the Grossman School of Business's Board of Advisors. David graduated from UVM in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science in business administration, and went on to earn an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. David has spent his career with Capital Group in New York City, where he is currently a partner and fixed income portfolio manager.

David and his wife Beth Daigle '89 are members of the UVM Foundation Leadership Council and have given generously to advance a wide variety of programs and initiatives across campus, including the Grossman School of Business, faculty endowments, facilities improvements, student scholarships, and more. The Daigles have three children: Evan (UVM Class of 2027), Celia, and Camille. They reside in Greenwich, Connecticut and make frequent trips to Vermont.
