Lawrence M. Roth '67

2017

Serving continuously on more than a dozen committees since graduating 50 years ago, Larry has given his heart and soul to the University of Vermont, most notably as a member on the Alumni Association's New York Regional Board for more than 15 years.

During his tenure on that board, he has helped to increase the University's visibility to help recruit and retain students to the university. Larry has an ability to bring alums back into the fold of the University that never imagined they would reengage with UVM. Larry's energy, enthusiasm and big ideas bring and keep people together and continue to move our University forward.

His professional life has been spent in the men's apparel industry. He had a sales agency, Larrco, representing better European brands. And he continues to do special projects with such U.S. brands as Cutter and Buck, and Rainforest, while also serving as president of International Cancer Expert Corps, a new NGO/ 501c3 he has joined in creating with Dr. Norman Coleman '67. ICEC works to improve the level of cancer care in LMICs through a long-term mentoring system.

He holds an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. In addition to his volunteerism on behalf of UVM, he has served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Lesotho and as a Catholic Relief Volunteer in Kenya, and on the Board of Directors of the Dalton School. Larry and his wife, Beryl, reside in New York, New York and have two grown sons.
