About the award:

This award honors an alum whose loyalty and dedication to the University of Vermont’s College of Medicine reflect the exceptional commitment of its namesake, Dr. A. Bradley Soule, M.D. ’28. A distinguished radiologist, educator, and leader, Dr. Soule played a pivotal role in saving and strengthening the College during a critical period of probation in the 1930s, leading efforts to reorganize the curriculum, recruit faculty, and improve facilities. Over his nearly 54-year career, he was celebrated as both a superb teacher and a guiding force in the College’s growth, leaving a legacy of service, leadership, and devotion to medical education.


Nominees should meet the following criteria:

  • Nominee must be a graduate of the Larner College of Medicine.

  • Has provided exceptional volunteer service that strengthens the Larner College of Medicine’s programs, people, and/or reputation.

  • Demonstrates leadership in advancing medical education, scholarship, clinical practice, and/or institutional mission.

  • Serves as a mentor, educator, or role model to students, trainees, faculty, or alumni.


Nomination Process


Who can nominate? 

Alumni, faculty, staff, students, family members, and friends of the university are encouraged and welcome to submit nominations. Self-nominations are also accepted.

 

Required Materials:

The nominator should submit a typed and dated letter explaining how the nominee exemplifies the award criteria and spirit of the award. We encourage nominators to include specific examples, accomplishments, and evidence of impact.

Additional Letters of Support

Additional nomination or support letters may strengthen a nomination file but are not required. Nomination files remain active for five years and may be updated over time.

 

Supplemental Materials

Supporting materials may include news articles, résumés or CVs, award announcements, publications, LinkedIn profiles, or other materials that provide additional context about the nominee’s accomplishments and impact.
