Distinguished Graduate Alumni Award
Presented every year to an alumnus/a from the Larner College of Medicine's Ph.D. or M.S. program who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in basic, clinical or applied research; education; industry; public service/humanitarianism; and/or outstanding commitment to the College of Medicine community.

Who can nominate?
Alumni, faculty, staff, students, family members, and friends of the university are encouraged and welcome to submit nominations. Self-nominations are also accepted.Required Materials
The nominator should submit a typed and dated letter explaining how the nominee exemplifies the award criteria and spirit of the award. We encourage nominators to include specific examples, accomplishments, and evidence of impact.
Optional Supporting Materials
Additional Letters of Support
Additional nomination or support letters may strengthen a nomination file but are not required. Nomination files remain active for five years and may be updated over time.
Supplemental Materials
Supporting materials may include news articles, résumés or CVs, award announcements, publications, LinkedIn profiles, or other materials that provide additional context about the nominee’s accomplishments and impact.
February 21 — Nominations due; submission portal closes at 11:30 p.m.
March — Nominations reviewed by the Awards Committees
April — Selections approved by the Alumni Association Board of Directors and Larner College of Medicine Alumni Executive Committee
May — Award recipients notified and publicly announced
Fall — Honorees celebrated at Celebrating Excellence, UVM’s signature alumni awards event

Alumni Association Board of Directors Awards Committee
The committee reviews all nomination materials and submits recommendations to the Board of Directors. Final award selections are approved by vote of the UVM Alumni Association Board of Directors.
Larner College of Medicine Alumni Executive Committee Awards Committee
The committee reviews all nomination materials and submits recommendations to the Larner College of Medicine Alumni Executive Committee for final approval and endorsement. Award recipients are celebrated at Medical Reunion during UVM Weekend each year.
