Established in 1985, this award honors outstanding alumni whose personal and professional accomplishments have brought distinction to themselves and to UVM.

Nominees should meet the following criteria:

• Be an undergraduate, graduate, or Larner College of Medicine alum of UVM.

• Demonstrate recognized achievement and measurable impact in their profession or field at the local, state, national, or international level.

• Make meaningful contributions that positively influence their community, profession, or society.

• Reflect the highest ideals, values, and spirit of the University of Vermont.

Nomination Process

Who can nominate? 

Alumni, faculty, staff, students, family members, and friends of the university are encouraged and welcome to submit nominations. Self-nominations are also accepted.

Required Materials:

The nominator should submit a typed and dated letter explaining how the nominee exemplifies the award criteria and spirit of the award. We encourage nominators to include specific examples, accomplishments, and evidence of impact.

Optional Supporting Materials

Additional Letters of Support

Additional nomination or support letters may strengthen a nomination file but are not required. Nomination files remain active for five years and may be updated over time.

Supplemental Materials

Supporting materials may include news articles, résumés or CVs, award announcements, publications, LinkedIn profiles, or other materials that provide additional context about the nominee’s accomplishments and impact.
